Henry raves: Forget Ibrahimovic - 'fantastic' £34m Liverpool star is 'Player of the Year'. Agree?

Eden Hazard, N'Golo Kante, and Premier League top scorer Romelu Lukaku are sure to be in the running for 'Player of the Year', but according to Arsenal hero Thierry Henry, one of LFC's players deserves the award this season.

Speaking to Sky Sports this week, Henry raved:

"I give Ibrahimovic a lot of credit, but Sadio Mane [is] the player of the season for me. He's a hell of a player [and] brings something different to Liverpool. He's been a star this year."

'Fantastic' Mane is probably Liverpool's 'Player of the Year', but when it comes to individual impact on a team, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Kante, and Lukaku are (IMO) currently ahead of Mane.

Hazard is a good shout, but Mane's creative record is better this season:

* Mane: 21 goals/assists in 29 apps (One every 115 mins).

* Hazard: 20 goals/assists in 34 apps (One every 134 mins).

It's hard to look past Ibrahimovic, though, who is smashing it in his first season in English football:

* Ibrahimovic: 38 goals/assists in 43 apps (one every 96 mins).

Reds legend Graeme Souness agrees, as he revealed this week:

"Ibrahimovic is the player of the season simply because he is 35 years old, and has single-handedly kept Man Utd in lots of competitions. I would imagine in the dressing room he is fabulous, a manager's dream".

* Mane: Cost Liverpool £34m.
