Klopp to Sign? Liverpool Reps fly out to watch 'exciting' €60m destroyer and several other transfer targets

The summer transfer window is fast approaching, and Liverpool scouts are already scouring Europe for potential new recruits.

According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola this week:

"Scouts from Liverpool were among a number of clubs watching players during the O Classico between Benfica and FC Porto".

Liverpool are constantly linked with Porto players, and here are six of the club's players the Reds have looked at over the last year:

* July 2016: SportMediaset reported: "Liverpool are ready pay €25m for Hector Herrera".

* Aug 2016: A report on TV show Nova Sport claimed: "Liverpool are interested in signing Andre Silva, and Porto are looking for a record transfer fee".

* Oct 2016: Portuguese newspaper Record reported: "Ruben Neves' agent Jorge Mendes has been contacted by Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool".

* Feb 2017: According to the Express, Liverpool 'made contact' with left-back Ricardo Pereira".

* Mar 2017: German newspaper Bild claimed: "Scouts from Liverpool have watched Moussa Marega several times this season".

* Mar 2017: Portuguese newspaper A Bola reported: "Liverpool reps were at the Estádio do Dragão on Saturday [Porto 7-0 Nacional] to watch Danilo".

Herrera (Central midfield), and Danilo (DM) play in positions Liverpool need to fill, and Neves (Central midfield) is an exciting option. That said, he is only 20, and it's too early (IMO) for a move to the Premier League.

Based on the most recent reports, Danilo - who has a £51m buyout clause in his contract - may be the player being watched. Klopp reportedly sent scouts to watch him in February, and defensive midfield is a priority position for Liverpool to fill.

Reds fans certainly want 'exciting' Danilo. I conducted a poll last month asking fans if Liverpool should sign the Brazilian, and 72% of participants voted YES to the deal.
