Next Suarez? Liverpool make monster €50m offer for 'extraordinary' wing sensation who's like 'Messi'

Liverpool have reportedly table a humungous offer for one of La Liga's most coveted rising stars.

According to a report on Spanish Radio Station Cadena Cope this week:

* Liverpool recently submitted a €50m offer for Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio.

* Spanish daily AS also confirmed the bid, and claimed that Real 'instantly rejected' the offer.

Some info about Asensio:

* 21-year old left-winger, who can also play RW and AM. Contract expires: 2022

* Espanyol: 19 goals/assists in 37 apps (One every 160 mins)

* Real Madrid: 12 goals/assists in 29 apps (One every 130 mins)

* Spain: 18 goals/assists in 26 apps for U21s/U19s. 2 apps for senior national team.

* Scouting Report (Strengths): "Pace. Incredible dribbling. Eye for a pass. Ability to torment defenders. What set Asensio apart is his confidence. He’s well aware of his ability and is never frightened to put it in the spotlight".

* Scored for Madrid on his La Liga debut, his Champions League debut, and his Copa Del Rey debut.

* Jul 2016: Ex-Spain boss Vicente Del Bosque enthused: "Asensio is greatest talent there is in Spain. He is a very skilful player".

* Aug 2016: Ex-Mallorca boss Valeri Karpin raved: "Asensio is one of the best players I’ve trained in my whole career".

* Dec 2016: Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane told Marca: "Asensio has the best left foot since Lionel Messi".

* Apr 2017: "Real legend Emilio Butragueño told Sport: "Marco Asensio is technically gifted, fast and powerful. He was extraordinary today. He has a great personality and the confidence of Zidane."

Liverpool suffered heavily this season as a result of Jurgen Klopp's failure to sign left-sided cover for Sadio Mane, but it looks like he's determined to rectify that mistake this summer.

It's unclear, however, why Asensio would want to leave the Bernabeu.

Madrid is (arguably) the biggest club in the world, and will challenge for elite trophies every season; conversely, Liverpool haven't won the league for 27 years, and rarely qualify for the Champions League. Sadly, it doesn't compute.
