Deal Close? Liverpool favourites to sign 'fantastic' €40m Brazil sensation who wants transfer to the Prem

Liverpool are reportedly favourites to sign one of the Bundesliga's most exciting attacking players.

According to a report in Munich-based newspaper Abendzeitung:

* Liverpool are interested ins singing Bayern Munich attacker Douglas Costa this summer.

* Spurs and Juve are also interested, but Liverpool have been tracking €40m-rated Costa for longer than both clubs.

Some info about 'fantastic' Costa:

* 26-year old left-winger, who can also play RW, and AM. Contract expires: 2020.

* Bayern: 41 goals/assists in 74 apps (One ever 126 mins)

* Brazil: 7 goals/assists in 19 apps (One every 122 mins)

* Injury History: 18 games missed in the last 2 seasons (6 injuries/153 days out)

* Apr 2015: The Mirror claimed Liverpool were planning a summer move for Costa.

* Aug 2015: Pep Guardiola's assessment: "He [Costa] is one of the best wingers in the world. He has a quality which is hard to find: The quality of his dribbles."

* Feb 2017: Costa claimed: I've received strong offers from from England, Spain and also France. [The Prem] is the best league in the world."

* Feb 2017: After reading Costa's comments, Bayern President Uli Hoeness barked: "This is only desperate attempt to get a higher salary. That doesn't work with us".

* Mar 2017: Costa admitted: "I'm not always that happy here. I speak to the club often, and We talk about if I'll stay here or find another team to play for".

Costa is clearly an enticing option, but if he plays on the left, and Mane operates on the right, where does that leave Coutinho? Is Klopp intending to switch to a 4231 formation, or is Costa a potential replacement for his Brazilian team-mate?
