Anfield Surpise: Klopp reveals 'very good news' about 'brilliant' €65m Liverpool duo

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that two of the club's senior players may be in contention for inclusion in Monday's squad to face Watford at Vicarage Road.

In his pre-match press conference on Friday, Klopp told reporters:

“Adam is back in team training today for the first time, which is very, very good news. Daniel is in team training again today too, and that’s good. Now we have to train...and then see what we can do with them.”

So: 'Brilliant' Sturridge is back in training, but for how long? It won't surprise me in the slightest if he picks up another knock before Monday, and/or plays for 30 minutes against Watford and then get injured again.

As for Lallana: the saviour is back! Let's all rejoice at the imminent return of a player who's scored just one goal in his last 21 hours of football and provided one piffling assist in his last 16 games!

As Reds fans keep telling me, Liverpool have sorely missed Lallana's incomparable pressing genius, an irreplaceable skill that helped the Reds go on an amazing winning run from January until he got injured in March. Oh, wait...

Realistically, if Friday is Lallana's first training session after injury, he's surely not match-fit enough to start against Watford...?

* Lallana/Sturridge: Combined €65m value (CIES). Hailed as 'brilliant' by Alan Shearer.
