Boss warns: £20m Liverpool star must 'improve his performance' and 'do better'. Sell ASAP?

Hull City boss Marco Silva has called on Liverpool misfit Lazar Markovic to up his game over the last few weeks of the season.

In his pre-match press conference today, Silva described Markovic as a 'big talent', but warned:

"He [Markovic] can do better. He can improve his performance...and he needs to give more for us. Of course I am happy because he improved but he can give more to us. I want more".

Silva's grievance is understandable. Since signing for Hull on a season-long loan, Markovic's has contributed just 2 goals (no assists) in 12 games (One every 489 mins), which is a poor return.

As a consequence of Markovic's profligacy, Hull are currently hovering just two points above the relegation zone, and it's reasonable to suggest that a few more goals/assists from the Serb might've propelled Hull a few more places up the table.

Despite his failure to make a consistent impact, Markovic still harbours hopes of returning to Liverpool this summer, but according to the Daily Mail, the Reds are ready to sell Markovic this summer, and West Ham are 'interested in signing' him.

Despite his underwehelming form, Markovic - who cost Liverpool £20m - appears to retain a measure of favour amongst Liverpool fans. I recently conducted a poll asking fans if Klopp should've kept Markovic this season, and 54% of participants voted YES.

Right now, Markovic looks like a massive transfer flop, but - being charitable - he is still only 22, and there's still a possibility that he can develop into a decent player. It just won't be at Liverpool.
