'Should've been 4-4!': Carra/Lineker etc react to 'intense' Liverpool draw; Klopp admits 'problems'

On the face of it, Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Man City is a good result, but the Reds really needed a victory to pull away from Manchester United, who now have two games in hand on Jurgen Klopp's team.

Here is a selection of post-match reaction:

* Jurgen Klopp: “It was intense. We defended well, we had a few problems, we came back. We became the better side, they came back. We gave them the opportunity to score and they did it. That’s how it is".

* John Aldridge: "Good result, but if we had that striker top teams have it's a 3-0 job! They were on the ropes before they scored. Got to be clinical".

* Jamie Carragher: "Great game, and should've been 4-4! Emre Can had one of his best games for Liverpool".

* David Thompson: "Liverpool fans are biased saying LFC where unlucky. We got a pen that wasn't and they should have had one. Also, they missed 3 open goals".

* Simon Mignolet: "High intensity game with attacking football by both teams. Solid point in the end".

* Jordan Henderson: "Great effort from the lads. Unlucky not to get the 3 points".

* Ray Clemence: "Great game to watch. Shame Lallana didn't stick that chance in late on".

* Veggard Heggem: "What a great game of positive football, wished it just went on and on! Some great energy from Wijnaldum and Can tonight. Top 4 to stay".

* Neill Mellor: "What an entertaining game that was! Both teams who went for it and both produced so many moments to have won it".

* Gary Lineker: "Wonderfully entertaining game. The best one-all draw I've seen in yonks".
