Shock Transfer: Legend urges 'Liverpool' to sign 'fantastic' £30m Man Utd outcast. 'Perfect' deal for Klopp

Liverpool are in desperate need of a new defenders this summer, and according to Wimbledon legend Robbie Earle, Jurgen Klopp should consider signing one of Manchester United's fringe players.

Multiple reports this week claim that Luke Shaw - who cost Man Utd £30m - wants out of Old Trafford this summer, and according to Earle:

"If Jose Mourinho doesn't want Luke Shaw, he'd be a perfect fit for Liverpool, although, transfers between those two clubs are as rare as rocking horse droppings".

Liverpool were linked with Shaw back in November, when The Express claimed:

"Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing Luke Shaw to Liverpool. The Reds are keeping tabs on Shaw’s situation".

Liverpool just can't stop signing and/or being trying to sign Southampton players! Whether it's direct (Lallana etc), or indirect (Shaw), the Reds just keep coming back to the Saints.

As Earle notes, though, transfers between Liverpool and Man United are a non-starter, but in this case, that's a good thing.

With his concerning injury history, and inability to adapt to the pressure and expectation at Man Utd, Shaw is the wrong signing for Liverpool, especially when there are more reliable, cheaper options available.

Plus, no more overpriced, overrated British players! With very few exceptions, a team filled with British players will not consistently win anything. There's a reason the England national team has won just one trophy in the entire history of football...
