Klopp Wants Me: 'Exciting' €20m star confirms 'Liverpool' interest after 'talk' with Daniel Agger

One of Jurgen Klopp's recent transfer targets has confirmed Liverpool's interest in securing a transfer this summer.

In January, a report on Sevilla-based radio station VIP claimed:

"Real Betis left-back Riza Durmisi has aroused the interest of Liverpool, who have sent scouts to watch him on several occasions".

In interview this week on Betis's official website, Durmisi specifically referenced the speculation linking him with a move to Anfield:

"When Liverpool and other big clubs show interest, of course it's good - it means I'm playing well".

This follow's Durmisi prior admission about the Reds in January, when he told reporters:

"If Betis will sell me, I'll listen to the offer. This also applies to Liverpool. Anything else is idiocy."

Some info about Durmisi:

* 23-year old left-back, who can also play left-midfield. Contract expires: 2021

* Brondby/Betis: 129 apps (23 goals/assists).

* 17 apps for Danish national team.

* Injury History: Missed only 4 games through injury since 2012.

* Has a €20m buyout clause in his contract:

* Mar 2016: Described by Denmark boss as an 'exciting young player'.

* Dec 2016: On his strengths/Weaknesses: "I’m an offensive player. I like to dribble, make assists, maybe a goal. We see that on the pitch. If I want to be a top player I need also to improve in defense".

* Jan 2017: Durmisi told reporters: "I talked with Daniel Agger about how it was to be in Liverpool. If the interest is concrete, I shall talk to Agger first."

Durmisi sounds like Moreno MK2: Good offensively, but suspect defensively. A left-back's primary role is to defend, and if he needs to 'improve' in defence, then perhaps Liverpool should wait until there's evidence of that improvement...?
