Massive Boost for Klopp: £42m Arsenal 'genius' may miss Liverpool game; sent home from training

After the misery of the last few days, here is some (potentially) good news to lift the spirits.

Liverpool face Arsenal on Saturday in one of the most important Premier League games of the season, and after Monday's abject capitulation at Leicester, a win is essential to maintain the club's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

Despite their ongoing issues, Arsenal remain a force in the Premier League, but like any club, the team is weakened without key players, and according to reports today:

* Arsenal's club doctor sent Mesut Ozil home from training today after the German exhibited 'flu-like symptoms'.

* Ozil faces a 'fight' to be fit for Saturday's game at Anfield.

Without wishing to engage in gleeful schadenfreude, desperate times call for desperate measures, and after a horrific run of results this year, Klopp needs all the help he can get to turn things around.

Along with Sanchez, Ozil is Arsenal's most important attacking players, so his absence can only be a positive for Liverpool.

Of course, Ozil still has 3 days to beat the illness, but there's no guarantee that he'll recover in time. Look at Daniel Sturridge, for example - he contracted an illness during the La Manga training camp, and 9 days later, he's still on the sidelines.

With any luck, Alexis Sanchez is next in line to be struck down (preferably before Saturday).

Ozil: Hailed by Jurgen Klopp for his 'genius' skill. Cost Arsenal £42m.
