Confirmed: 'Liverpool players' want Klopp to sign 'incredible' €35m attacker who's 'like Robben'

Liverpool are once again being linked with a move for Inter Milan attacker Ivan Perisic, and at least one Reds player is hoping that Jurgen Klopp is able to seal the deal.

In January, the Liverpool Echo claimed that Ivan Perisic was on Jurgen Klopp's transfer radar, and a report last week in Italian newspaper Tutto Mercato claimed:

"According to our sources, Jurgen Klopp is ready to offer £35m for Inter Milan attacker Ivan Perisic".

When asked this week about the possibility of Perisic signing for Liverpool, Dejan Lovren told Croatian newspaper Jutarnji:

“Perisic moving to Liverpool would be great. He is a top quality player with exceptional skills, and higher than average quality. All the Liverpool players would welcome him with open arms".

Some info about Perisic:

* Left-winger, who can also play on the right. Contract expires: 2020.

* 2011-2013: Played under Jurgen Klopp a Dortmund.

* Dortmund: 12 goals/7 assists in 64 games (One every 129 mins)

* Inter Milan: 31 goals/assists in 70 games (One every 160 mins)

* Croatia: 32 goals/assists in 55 apps (One every 122 mins)

Wait: Klopp wants to sign an experienced international player in his late-20s? I'll believe it when I see it.

In any event, as noted in a previous article, Klopp has history of public spats with Perisic, and I can't see the Croatian choosing to to play under him again, especially in the twilight of his career.

Plus, Perisic doesn't fit the profile of the kind of player Klopp appears to favour (i.e. pliable, malleable, subservient, obedient etc), which probably explains his past bust-ups with Liverpool's manager.

* Oct 2016: Hailed by Davor Suker as 'incredible' and 'like [Arjen] Robben'.
