'We'll have talks': £20m attacker confirms he wants to be a 'Liverpool player' next season.

One of Brendan Rodgers' transfer flops has confirmed that he'll discuss his Liverpool future with Jurgen Klopp this summer.

Lazar Markovic is currently on loan at Hull, and just like at Liverpool, Fenerbahce, and Sporting Lisbon, he is contributing next to nothing.

Markovic insists that he's a more 'mature' player now, though, and speaking to Sky Sports this week, he appeared to suggest that Jurgen Klopp wants him out this summer:

"I see it differently from the coach [Klopp]. I am still a Liverpool player. We will have talks in the summer and see how it goes from there".

The clear interpretation here is that Klopp wants to sell Markovic, but the Serb wants to stay at the club. After all, the fact that Markovic 'sees things differently' to Klopp means there's a conflict about something, and it's obviously about his future.

Did Jurgen Klopp make a mistake sending Markovic on loan? I conducted a poll recently asking fans if Klopp should've kept Markovic in the squad this season, and 54% of participants voted in favour of Markovic staying put.

Right now, Markovic looks like a massive transfer flop, but - being charitable - he is still only 22, and there's still a possibility that he can develop into a decent player for Liverpool.

Is Markovic a busted flush, or can he salvage his career under Klopp?

Here is a video of Markovic's best moments from his loan periods at Hull and Sporting Lisbon. My favourite moment is 1:16 - spectacular!
