Secret Meeting: 'Lethal' €70m attacker confirms transfer talks with 'Klopp' but already 'decided' to sign for' BVB

One of Borussia Dortmund's most 'lethal' attackers has confirmed that he met with Klopp about a possible transfer to Liverpool.

In April 2016, Liverpool reportedly made a 'formal approach' for 'fantastic' BVB star Ousmane Dembele, with Klopp following up with one-to-one phone calls in a bid to entice Dembele to Anfield.

When asked this week about the proposed move to Anfield, Dembele told Four Four Two:

"I saw Klopp in Paris, but I’d already decided to join Dortmund".

Clearly, Klopp's prior attempts to attract Dembele failed, and it's a little ironic that he ultimately lost out (again) to his old club, which (arguably) suggests that Dortmund itself - and not Klopp - is the major draw (especially with Champions League football on offer).

With 20 goals/assists in 32 games this season (One every 107 mins), Dembele is having a stellar first season at BVB, and so far his creative output is superior to *every* Liverpool player, including Mane, Lallana, Coutinho, and Firmino.

Whether Dembele could replicate his form in the Premier League is open to debate, but I personally find it galling that a teenager is having more of a creative impact than Liverpool's older, more experienced international players.

Dembele made the right decision. He's a regular for Dortmund, but at Liverpool, it's doubtful he'd have played so regularly. The closest comparison is Divock Origi, and he barely starts games.
