Message to Klopp: 'Incredible' £25k-a-week star admits he's desperate to play for 'Liverpool' next season

One of Liverpool's season-long loanees has confirmed that he's desperate to get back to Anfield this summer.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo this week, Jon Flanagan - who is currently on loan at Burnley - made it clear that his heart still lies with Liverpool:

"I want to go back and prove what I’m all about at Liverpool. I am excited and looking forward to the challenge. Hopefully I can force my way into the [Burnley] team before going back to Liverpool".

Flanagan has made only 3 Premier League starts for Burnley this season, and overall, he's been an unused substitute on 17 times. He hasn't even featured in a Premier League game since December 26th, so it looks like his loan year is turning into a bit of a washout.

Flanno also revealed that he's 'in touch' with Liverpool regularly:

"He [Jurgen Klopp] knows I want to go back and prove myself, and I still believe I’ve got a future at Liverpool".

I'm not so so sure. Liverpool desperately needed solid full-back options this season (left and right) but despite the obvious weakness in this area, Klopp still sent Flanagan on loan. In my view, if Klopp really rated Flanagan, he would've kept him in the squad, and used him as cover for both Clyne and Milner.

Burnley barely use Flanagan, so it's not as if he's benefiting from the loan. Can Flanagan break into Klopp's team next season?

* Mar 2016: Hailed by Jordon Henderson for his 'incredible' dedication. Reportedly on £25k-a-week
