Deal Agreed: Liverpool finally seal transfer for 'unbelievable' £80k-a-week Brazilian

One of Liverpool's longest serving players has reportedly agree a deal leave Anfield this summer.

Over the last two years, Lucas Leiva has been constantly linked with transfers away, and in January, the Brazilian reportedly came close to leaving, with Sky Sports Italia claiming that he 'passed a medical' with Inter Milan.

Soon after, Gremio President Romildo Bolzan told reporters:

“Lucas Leiva is a player who is in the fans’ imagination. He is a player that would be important to bring. We made an approach, but the conditions are very difficult."

Well, it looks like both Inter and Gremio have missed out. According to reports in Turkey:

* Galatasaray have reached an agreement to sign Lucas this summer.

* The Turkish giants will pay a €2.5m transfer fee, and the deal will be concluded in June.

Lucas was linked with Galatasaray in the latter stages of the summer transfer window, and at the time, Galatasaray official Levent Nazifoglu noted:

"We've spoken personally with Lucas Leiva. He asked for one more day. The situation will be clearer by tonight".

Jurgen Klopp reportedly vetoed the deal to keep Lucas as defensive cover, and when asked this week about the transfer, Lucas told confirmed:

“There were a few exit opportunities, but they ended up not happening. Liverpool didn’t feel comfortable to seal a deal".

Hopefully, Klopp will let Lucas go this time. After 10 years, it'll be a shame to see the him go, but it's arguably unfair to keep denying him a move just to fill gaps in Liverpool's squad.
