Done Deal: 'Sensational' £25m star wanted by Liverpool signs 5-year deal; 'transfer' confirmed

How many more players is Jurgen Klopp going to lose to Borussia Dortmund? Over the last year, Isak, Mor, Dembele, Gotze, and Pulisic have all reportedly chosen BVB over Liverpool, and now, another Klopp target has also seemingly rejected a move to Anfield.

Liverpool have been linked with Mahmoud Dahoud numerous times this season, with the last link coming in January, when reports claimed that Jurgen was planning a last-gasp move for the 'sensational' midfielder.

According to a statement today on Dortmund's website, however:

"Mahmoud Dahoud will complete a transfer this summer to Borussia Dortmund, one year ahead of his contract end date".

Gladbach director Max Eberl has also confirmed the deal for €25m-rated Dahoud, who has reportedly agreed a 5-year contract:

"Mahmoud Dahoud has chosen to join Borussia Dortmund. This transfer shows that we're doing good work."

Reacting to the deal, Dortmund director Michael Zorc enthused:

"Dahoud is an exciting player [and] he has already proved that he can play at the top level."

The transfer fee has not been disclosed, but according to reports in Germany, Dortmund triggered Dahoud's €10m release clause.

Like many fans, I watch the Bundesliga regularly, and Dahoud is (arguably) overrated. That said, for €10m, he's clearly worth it, and if Liverpool's held a genuine interest, then it's surely massive negligence to lose out on a player with such an affordable transfer fee?

A big loss, or no big deal?
