Mystery Solved: 'Wonderful' Liverpool star injured; possibly out for the season. Left off La Manga trip

Whatever happened to Liverpool summer signing Marko Grujic?

Grujic hasn't featured for Liverpool since a 90th minute cameo against Leeds on November 29th (talk about an utterly pointless substitution), and prior to that, he last started on October 25th against Spurs.

In early December, Klopp claimed that Grujic had suffered a 'tendon injury' and was 'on the way back', but over two months later, and there's no sign of the Serb in any of Klopp's match day squads.

Well, according to the Echo:

"The injured Dejan Lovren, Danny Ings, Ovie Ejaria, Marko Grujic and Adam Bogdan remained at Melwood for treatment".

Grujic's first season at Anfield has been beset with niggling issues (concussion, virus, ankle injury, tendon issue), and if he is still out after all this time, then it suggests that the tendon injury is far worse than anyone expected.

As such, it's probably safe to predict that Grujic's season is over. After 2+ months out, he'll be woefully short of match fitness, and there's not enough time (or games) left in the season to recover, train, and get back into tip-top matchday condition.

Earlier this season, Klopp claimed that Grujic is a 'wonderful' player, and with any luck, he'll be able to show that next season (if he's not injured again, of course!)
