Anfield MegaDeal: Klopp desperate to sign 'exceptional' €43m attacking sensation. Liverpool's top target

Who is Liverpool's top target this summer?

On Friday, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Liverpool are 'in talks' with 'players and agents' ahead of the summer transfer window, and according to the Liverpool Echo:

"The ECHO understands that Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt is one of the Reds' top targets".

In recent weeks, several other credible news outlets have also claimed that the allegedly 'exceptional' Brandt is Liverpool's top target, including ESPN, which recently claimed that:

* Brandt remains Klopp's 'primary target' for the summer window.

* Liverpool have already made an official bid for the 20-year old.

If this is true, then it's hard to understand how a comparatively inexperienced 20-year old can be LFC's top target. The Reds need wing options, but are we to believe that Brandt is the key to Liverpool's success next season? One thing's for sure: Brandt's stats will have to improve at Anfield. Leverkusen stats this season:

* 3 goals/6 assists in 29 apps (Goal every 633 mins. G/A every 212 mins)

When asked in January about his future, Brandt confirmed that he wants to 'renew' his contract at Leverkusen, and further admitted:

"I don't want to deal with this [transfer speculation] forever. It gets annoying and performances will suffer because of it."

Perhaps Brandt's poor goals tally this season is a result of his performances suffering...?

* €43m-rated (CIES)
