Anfield MegaDeal: Wijnaldum admits he wants 'Liverpool' to sign 'fantastic' €50m sensation. Next transfer?

Giorgino Wijnaldum has urged Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to sign one of his international team-mates.

Three days ago, The Mirror claimed:

"Liverpool will step up their bid to land Quincy Promes in January. Jurgen Klopp is determined to find cover, and sees Promes as the perfect target"

When asked over the weekend about the possibility of Promes signing for Liverpool, Wijnaldum made it clear that he wants the transfer to happen:

“Of course I want him [Promes] to come to Liverpool. He is a good player who can help the team and he knows how great Liverpool is. It is something for the manager and the scouts, not for me”.

Given the recent spate of injuries to key attacking players (and Klopp's admission today that Coutinho will be out for longer than expected), it makes sense to bring in extra attacking cover in January.

Promes has 13 goals/assists in 17 games this season, and at the age of 23, he's (arguably) at the right age to tackle the Premier League.

If Wijnaldum is willing to be so public about his desire for this transfer to happen, then perhaps he's been similarly vocal about Promes with Klopp...?

* According to Spartak Owner Leonid Fedun, Promes will cost '€40m-€50m'.
