Disaster for Liverpool: Klopp confirms €90m trio 'will not' play vs. Plymouth; 6 players out overall?

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Liverpool will be missing three senior players for Sunday's FA Cup clash with Plymouth Argyle.

When asked today during his pre-match press conference about the club's injuries, Klopp told reporters:

“Coutinho is on a very good way but not for the weekend, and Matip is the same. Milner is better. He had a little issue with the calf...but I am pretty sure we will not take the risk with him for the weekend.”

Klopp also provided an update on Daniel Sturridge, and it's not looking good:

"Daniel didn’t train until now, so we’ll see. It depends how he feels, that’s how it is. It should be possible, but I’m not sure".

Klopp also appeared to suggest that club captain Jordan Henderson will also miss the game:

"I don't know exactly. Hopefully it's not too serious, but the FA Cup will be difficult [for Hendo]".

With Sadio Mane at the AFCON, that means Liverpool potentially be without SIX senior first-team players: Matip, Mane, Coutinho, Henderson, Sturridge, and Milner. That's basically the spine of the first team, and whilst it's not (in theory) a great problem against League Two opposition, Liverpool have vital games against Southampton and Man Utd to come, and the more quality players available, the better.

I suspect that Klopp will field a shadow side against Plymouth, and prioritise the Man United and Southampton games. Possible lineup:

------------- Karius
Arnold --- Gomez - Klavan ---- Moreno
---- Stewart -- Can --- Ejaria
----- Ojo --- Origi -- Firmino

Rested: Lallana, Lovren, Clyne, Wijnaldum, Mignolet, Sturridge.

* Matip, Coutinho, Milner: Combined worth = £90m (CIES Football Observatory)
