Done Deal Soon? Klopp to make £25m offer for 'fantastic' attacker; Liverpool star 'wants' transfer to happen

Liverpool's first signing of the January transfer window appears to edging ever closer.

Last week, The Mirror claimed:

"Liverpool will step up their bid to land Quincy Promes in January. Jurgen Klopp is determined to find cover, and sees Promes as the perfect target"

According to the Liverpool Echo this weekend:

"Liverpool are to make a £25m bid for Spartak Moscow star Qunicy Promes. Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing a wide forward to Anfield to replace Sadio Mane, who has now departed for the African Cup of Nations".

Reds midfielder Giorgino Wijnaldum has also made it clear that he wants the transfer to happen:

“Of course I want him [Promes] to come to Liverpool. He is a good player who can help the team and he knows how great Liverpool is. It is something for the manager and the scouts, not for me”.

Promes has 13 goals/assists in 17 games this season, and at the age of 23, he's (arguably) at the right age to tackle the Premier League.

Last month, Spartak Owner Leonid Fedun claimed that Promes will not be sold for for 'anything less than '€40m-€50m', so if he sticks to that, then Liverpool have little chance of sealing a deal.

€50m seems totally unrealistic, but Liverpool have been messed about before by owners of Russian Premier League clubs, and to be honest, I'll be surprised if the Reds are able to reach an agreement with Spartak.
