Contact Made: Klopp makes personal phone call to ask about 'powerful' goal-machine. Sign for Liverpool?

Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for one of Nottingham Forest's brightest talents.

According to the Liverpool Echo over the weekend:

"Liverpool are linked with a move for Nottingham Forest youngster Ben Brereton. Jurgen Klopp...made a personal phone call to Nottingham Forest this week to ask about Brereton".

Some info about Brereton:

* 15 goals in 20 games for Forest's U23 team this season.

Description on the Nottingham Forest website: "A powerful centre forward with a good technical ability [who's] in red-hot form for the Under 23s".

* Oct 2016: Forest boss Philip Montanier's assessment: "He [Brereton] is a good player. He is a good finisher, but he needs to grow and get stronger. If he gets stronger, he will only get better".

* Dec 2016: Signed a new long-term deal with Forest. After signing, the club's Owner Fawaz Al Hasawi enthused: "Ben is a player we admire greatly and we are all looking forward to seeing him progress with us".

Meh. Another signing for the distant future. What about the club's transfer needs right now?
