Sort It Out: Carra slates 'brilliant' €44m Liverpool star after Sunderland fiasco; tells him to 'liven up'

Reds legend Jamie Carragher has slammed one of Liverpool's midfielders for a lackluster performance against Sunderland.

After witnessing Liverpool's 2-2 draw at the Stadium of Light, Carra barked:

"Emre Can needs to seriously liven up. Henderson is a big miss at the moment".

I'm sure many fans felt like this whilst watching the game. I certainly did - Can is just so slow on the ball sometimes, and it's frustrating to watch. Plus, his sluggish control indirectly led to fatal loss of possession during the game, from which Sunderland won their first penalty.

In all fairness, Sunderland should've been awarded a third penalty today for Can's reckless handball in the box, but luckily, the Reds got away with it.

Given their position in the league, dire defensive record, and injury problems, a draw against Sunderland is a bad result, but it's not the end of the world. Sh^t happens, and Liverpool are still safely ensconced in the top four, and that's all that matters.

Champions League qualification is (IMO) the main goal this season, and the team is well on track to achieve that. As such, I don't really care if Liverpool drop down to fourth place, just as long as the team qualifies for Europe's Premier competition.
