Anfield Update: 'Tremendous' £50k-a-week star definitely out of Liverpool clash with Everton. Klopp to benefit?

Liverpool face Everton at Goodison Park on Monday, and there is already some confirmed team news ahead of the game.

Everton star Phil Jagielka has been hit with an automatic one match ban after being sent off against Arsenal this week, which means he will definitely miss Monday's Merseyside derby.

Jagielka is Everton's captain, so this is great news for Liverpool, who go into the game on the back of an impressive, morale-boosting victory over Middlesbrough.

£25m summer signing Yannick Bolasie is also out of the game with a knee injury, and given the damage he's done against Liverpool in the past (for Crystal Palace), that's another major boost for the Reds.

Everton are unbeaten at home this season, and the recent 2-1 victory over Arsenal is sure to a a huge confidence booster ahead of Monday's crunch clash.

Alas, Liverpool also have injury worries, with Coutinho definitely out, Emre Can on the sidelines, and - most worryingly - defensive lynchpin Joel Matip out of action with an ankle injury.

On the plus side, Lovren and Klavan looked solid against Middlesbrough, but the optimism should be tempered by the fact that 'Boro have the worst goalscoring record in all four leagues of English football (!)

Roll on Monday!

* Jagielka: Hailed by Jamie Carragher as a 'tremendous' player. Reportedly on £50k-a-week.
