Not Again: Liverpool nightmare as 'excellent' £20m star suffers 21st hamstring injury under Klopp

When it rains, it pours. With injuries piling up, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed yet another injury to one of the club's key players.

Emre Can missed Sunday's game with a knee injury, and Dejan Lovren lasted just 45 minutes against West ham before leaving the field injured.

After the game, Klopp claimed Lovren suffered 'cramp', but he also noted:

"In the ear of the medical department this is a hamstring issue. Dejan wanted to carry on but we cannot take a risk in this situation. Hopefully we took him [off] early enough."

It's highly unlikely that 'cramp' would cause a player to be subbed off at half-time in an important Premier League game. Cramp can be fixed relatively easily, but as Klopp admitted, it's a 'hamstring issue', which basically means Lovren has a hamstring injury.

Liverpool players have suffered 21 hamstring injuries during Jurgen Klopp's reign:

* Coutinho (x4), Allen, Benteke, Toure, Enrique, Milner, Sturridge, Mignolet, Skrtel, Firmino, Origi, Lovren (x2), Ibe, Moreno, Sakho, Lucas, Wijnaldum. Hamstring XI:

------------- Mignolet
Toure --- Skrtel - Lovren -- Moreno
----- Lucas - Allen - Wijnaldum
------- Firmino --- Coutinho
------------ Sturridge

SUBS: Benteke, Enrique, Origi, Sakho, Ibe, Milner.

^ Lovren: Cost Liverpool £20m. Hailed by Robbie Fowler as 'excellent'
