Massive Boost for LFC: Klopp reveals great news about 'exceptional' €31m attacker; Sturridge's record now under threat?

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided an update on Divock Origi's fitness, and it appears to be good news.

Origi limped off the field last night during Liverpool's impressive 3-0n victory over Middlesbrough, and when asked after the game about the Belgian striker's fitness, Klopp told reporters:

"I don't think [he is injured], no. A little knock and a little bit of pain. We wanted to change Sadio but then Divock was on the floor".

Speaking to the official LFC website today, Origi also appeared to suggest that he'll be fit for Monday's trip to Everton:

"It [Everton] is a huge, huge game. We have to recover from this game, take the good things from this game, and have good training. We will go there with very big motivation.”

5 goals in 5 successive games is an impressive achievement, but Origi will have to keep it going if he's to eclipse injured striker Daniel Sturridge.

During the 2013-14 season, Sturridge scored in 8 consecutive games (between November and February), which is a fantastic achievement, and a reminder of just how good Sturridge can be.

The big question now is this: who makes way when Coutinho returns? Origi's goal spree has coincided with a drop in output from Roberto Firmino, and if the Belgian continues scoring, it'll be hard to justify dropping him...

* €31m-rated (CIES Football Observatory). Described as 'exceptional' by Owen Hargreaves.
