Inside Info: Journo claims he's been 'told' that 'incredible' star will 'go to Liverpool'

Is Steven Gerrard destined to become a coach and/or manager at Liverpool FC?

Talksport journo Mike Parry claims to have some inside info on Gerrard's future, and in a conversation with John Barnes this week, Parry claimed:

"I was told that Steven Gerrard will go to Liverpool in a coaching capacity, but it will be with the under 18s".

After the departure of U23 boss Michael Beale, there is a vacancy in Liverpool's coaching set-up, but Parry's claim opens up the possibility that U18s boss Neil Critchley may get promoted to the U23s, which will then allow Gerrard to take over the U18s.

Ex-Red Alvaro Arbeloa also seems to think so that Gerrard is destined for an Anfield return, and when asked this week about Gerrard's coaching future, he explained:

“He [Gerrard] has experience, he’s worked with good coaches, and if he wants to be a coach, he can, and there’s no better place than Liverpool.”

According to a statement on the official LFC website, 'the process to appoint his [Beale's] replacement is underway', so it'll be interesting to see how things change at the Academy in the upcoming weeks.

* Reportedly earned £75k-a-week at LA Galaxy. Hailed this week by Brendan Rodgers as 'incredible'
