Carra raves: 'Fantastic' £43m attacker is a 'superstar for Liverpool' this season. Trouble ahead?

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has joined the Sadio Mane fan club.

After watching Mane score the winner against Everton on Monday, Carra told Sky Sports:

"Mane has been a superstar for Liverpool. Fantastic signing. People questioned the fee, but he’s proving to be value for money".

With 15 goals/assists in 18 games so far this season, Mane is having an immense impact on Liverpool's forward play, but that will come to an end in January when he jets off to the African Cup of Nations.

Depending on how far Senegal progress in the competition, Mane may miss up to six weeks of the season, and whilst he admits it will 'not be easy' to leave the Reds, the £43m-rated attacker is convinced that Liverpool can handle his absence:

"Without me the team will be the same, even better. They will cope. [Philippe] Coutinho will come back. [Joël] Matip will come back and [Daniel] Sturridge is back now".

Reds captain Jordan Henderson also believes that Liverpool have the players to compensate for Mane's loss:

"He [Mane] will be a big miss when he goes away with Senegal but we have got players who can step in and we will deal with it. Whoever takes his place, it is up to them to carry on his work".

Will Mane's absence have a negative impact on the team's title push?
