Gary Neville raves: 'Brilliant' €28m Liverpool star is better than 'Sadio Mane' this season. Agree?

Who is Liverpool's most influential player this season?

For many fans, it will be a three-way choice between Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane, and Adam Lallana, but according to Man United legend Gary Neville, there's only one winner.

Speaking to Sky Sports last night, Neville selected Lallana for his team of the season, explaining:

"It was a choice between Lallana and Sadio Mane for the right midfield spot in my team of the season, and for me, I felt Lallana shaded it".

Purely in terms of end product, Mane has more goals/assists overall, but Lallana's minutes per goal/assist ratio is superior:

* Mane: 15 goals/assists 18 apps (One every 104 mins)

* Lallana: 12 goals/assists in 16 apps (One every 92 mins)

Lallana also shades it on some other important Premier League stats:

Lallana

* BRICTs (Blocks, Recoveries, Interceptions, Tackles, and Clearances): 111 (One every 9.4 mins)

* Passing Accuracy (Overall): 86% | Opposition Half: 84%.

* Shooting Accuracy: 67% | Crossing Accuracy: 30%

Mane

* BRICTs: 124 (One every 11 mins)

* Passing Accuracy (Overall): 78%. Opposition Half: 76%.

* Shooting Accuracy: 63% | Crossing Accuracy: 14%

As much as I'm loath to agree with a Manc, it appears that Neville has got it right here.

* Lallana: €28m-rated (CIES). Hailed last week as 'brilliant' by Alan Shearer.
