Confirmed Teams: Liverpool suffer last-gasp injury blow; Klopp springs triple surprise; 'magnificent' attacker returns

Liverpool have picked up yet another injury ahead of today's Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

FULL TEAM: Karius, Clyne, Lovren, Lucas, Milner, Can, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Mane, Firmino, Origi

SUBS: Mignolet, Moreno, Lallana, Klavan, Alexander-Arnold, Ejaria, Woodburn

* According to the Liverpool Echo: "Joel Matip ruled out of #LFC clash with Bournemouth with a minor ankle problem".

* Lucas Leiva - an able deputy - comes in for Matip. Ragnar Klavan, a dedicated centre-back, is ignored.

* Firmino returns to the starting lineup, which is a boost for the team in the continued absence of Coutinho.

* After his recent groin injury, Lallana makes the bench, which is a prudent decision. Eddie Howe will be happy - in his prematch press conference, he admitted he's 'prefer not to see' Lallana in the starting lineup.

* After their impressive performances against Leeds, Ejaria, Alexander-Arnold, and Woodburn make the bench.

Probable Formation:

--------------- Karius
Clyne --- Lucas ---- Lovren -- Milner
------ Can ---- Hendo -- Wijnaldum
------- Mane -- Origi -- Firmino

Predicting a 1-1 draw, Reds legend Mark Lawrenson told the BBC:

"Liverpool looked a little lethargic in their EFL Cup win over Leeds without the injured Philippe Coutinho, I think Bournemouth might get something from the game".
