Klopp to Sign? Liverpool plan £25m offer for 'fantastic' attacker who rejected 'Man Utd'

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly eyeing a January raid on the Russian Premier League.

According to Sky Sports today:

"Liverpool are ready to go dutch in January with a £25m move for Spartak Moscow's Quincy Promes".

When asked recently about Promes' future, Spartak boss Dmitry Alenichev told Sport Express:

"Many clubs are interested but we are going to talk to him [Promes]. Even if Jose Mourinho comes calling, we will not let him go. I want to keep working with him".

Some info about Promes:

* 24-year old right-winger, who can also play on the left, or as as center-forward. Contract expires: 2021

* Spartak: 36 goals/19 assists (55) in 75 apps (One every 118 mins).

* This season: 11 goals/assists in 14 apps (One every 108 mins).

* Apr 2015: On rejecting Man Utd: "I can confirm there was interest but, I felt I wasn’t ready for a move to Manchester United”.

* Mar 2016: Netherlands coach Danny Blind's assessment: "Promes is an example to follow for other talented youngsters. He put in some fantastic performances [for Spartak] and he has been playing at a very high level in a tough competition".

* Mar 2016: Blind on Promes' versatility: "He can play on either wing if we play with three attackers, but he can also play around a target man in a formation with two strikers. He scores goals and can stretch defences".

* Mar 2016: Edgar Davids' view: "He [Promes] is a good, talented player. I hope he has a bright future in Orange, because the current team desperately needs talented players,”

Based on the number of recent links to wingers and attacking players, it appears that Jurgen Klopp is worried about the impact of Sadio Mane's absence during the AFCON.

Plus, if these links are true, it also suggests that Klopp has little faith in Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi, both of whom are bursting for extra game time. If Klopp rates those two, then why sign another attacking player in January?
