Klopp Confirms: 'Unhappy' €23m Liverpool outcast 'will play' against Leeds tonight. Good decision?

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he will make at least one unenforced change for tonight's League Cup clash with Leeds United.

When asked on Monday if Loris Karius will be given the night off, Klopp told reporters:

"If nothing happens, Simon [Mignolet] will play. 100 per cent".

Klopp made eleven changes for the 2-1 victory over Spurs in the previous round, and given the opposition, it'll come as no surprise if the manager makes a similar number of changes tonight.

After a month without football, Mignolet - who, Klopp admits, is 'unhappy' with his current situation - will be bursting to play, but he'll be aware that he'll be dumped back on the bench irrespective of how well he performs against Leeds.

Last month, Mignolet complained publicly about being on the bench, and it's surely only a matter of time before he decides to quit LFC for another club. The Belgian won't be short of suitors, and according to the Express this week:

"Slaven Bilic is hoping that Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet [will] become available at the end of the season".

With Danny Ward due to return at the end of the season, there's a strong possibility that Mignolet will be relegated to third-choice 'keeper.

Next stop West Ham?
