Anfield MegaDeal: Liverpool chase 'exceptional' €40m sensation who rejected Chelsea. Agent confirmed transfer 'interest' this week

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly considering a move for one of Germany's most promising young players.

According to German newspaper Sportbild:

"Liverpool are looking at Bayer Leverkusen star Julian Brandt, who is also wanted by Manchester City, Juventus and AC Milan".

Liverpool were last linked with Brandt during Brendan Rodgers' reign, and at the time, The Mirror claimed that Rodgers made a 'personal check' on the German attacker.

When asked this week about Brandt's future, his agent told Express.de:

"There is interest, but there are no negotiations or preliminary talks with other clubs yet".

Some info about Brandt:

* 20-year old left-winger, who can also play on the right, or as a number 10. Contract expires: 2019.

* Leverkusen: 17 goals/18 assists (35) in 107 games (One every 154 mins). 4 apps for the German national team.

* Rejected Chelsea to sign for Leverkusen.

* Scouting Report (Strengths): "Strong all-round attacking game. Two-footed speed merchant. Excellent in tight spaces, and stronger than he looks".

* Sep 2014: When asked his strengths and weakness, Brandt told reporters: "Weaknesses are defensive work and heading ability. I live by my speed, I'm good with both feet, and I give everything on the pitch"

* May 2015: Leverkusen Sporting Director Rudi Voller raved: "He [Brandt] is exceptional. Fast, and a great natural talent. He has many qualities that you can not learn"

* €40m-rated (CIES Football Observatory)

Klopp will know Brandt from his time in the Bundesliga, so this link makes a lot of sense, but in my view, Brandt is better off staying at Leverkusen for another 1-2 years.
