Henry raves: 'Amazing' £125k-a-week Liverpool star is 'on another level' and he 'creates fear'

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry continues to be enamoured by Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane.

In August, Henry insisted that Mane can outperform Pogba and Ibrahimovic this season, and when asked this week about the Senegalese star, Henry raved:

"He [Mane] is on another level now. I wouldn’t like to play against him. He’s always coming back. He wants the ball at his feet, but he also wants to run in behind, and that creates fear"

Realistically, if Mane and Henry ever played in the same game, they'd rarely come face-to-face as they operate in completely different areas of the field. But I digress...

In my view, the hype over Mane is out of control. Yes, he's a good player, but the way fans and pundits go on about him is ridiculously over the top. He was anonymous against Man United, and barely impacted the game, yet Sturridge is the one getting all the grief from fans.

Additionally, after five goals/assists in his first four games, Mane's output has slipped to one goal/no assists in the last four games. Plus, Arsenal aside, he's failed to produce against the best teams (Chelsea, Man Utd, and Spurs).

Every new player has a honeymoon period at a new club, where everything is exciting, and there's huge motivation to succeed. That time has now passed, and it'll be interesting to see how Mane performs between now and January.

As you can probably tell, I'm still not drinking the Kool-Aid. Sorry, but continually lionising and deifying players for basically doing their job is anathema to me.

^ Reportedly on £125k-a-week.
