'I'd be amazed': Legend urges Klopp to ignore 'brilliant' €23m Liverpool star for Man Utd

Earlier this week, Simon Mignolet publicly exhorted Jurgen Klopp to start him against Manchester United on Monday, but is there any real possibility of a quick recall?

When asked on Wednesday about the Man Utd game, Mignolet admitted:

"It hurts [to be] on the bench. I didn’t play the last two weeks and I don’t want it to be any longer. I hope to play against United".

Reacting to the comments, Reds legend Jan Molby dismissed Mignolet's chances of a swift return to the first-team. He told the Liverpool Echo:

"I'd be amazed if Mignolet is recalled. What would be the point of giving Karius a run if you're already thinking about bringing Mignolet back for a big game?".

Deep down, I'm sure Mignolet begrudgingly appreciates that it doesn't make sense to drop Karius so quickly, and if the roles were reversed, he'd feel aggrieved at being replaced after just three games between the sticks (with no defeats).
