Coutinho raves: £27m attacker Liverpool tried to sign is a 'cracking player' who has 'everything'

In August, Manchester City sealed a £27m deal for Palmeiras sensation Gabriel Jesus, and according to Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho, Jesus will take the Premier League by storm.

Liverpool were linked with Jesus over the summer, but pulled out of the deal due to alleged 'unfair competition'.

Jesus will join up with City in January, and when asked this week about the the Brazilian's talent, Coutinho raved:

He [Jesus] is a cracking player. He will have no difficulty in adapting as he is agile, strong and fast. Everything you need to play in England, he has it, and I'm sure he will do well.”

Jesus played alongside both Coutinho and Firmino in Brazil's recent 5-0 victory over Bolivia, and with 3 goals in 3 games so far, his international career is off to a great start.

At club level, Jesus has smashed in 14 goals/assists in 14 games for Palmeiras this season, and if he continues that creative ratio at Man City, it could just be the boost Pep Guardiola needs to secure the Premier League title.

Liverpool will have something to say about that, though. The Reds face Man City on December 31st, and again on March 18th 2017, and for that game, Jesus - if he plays - will come up against Coutinho.

For now, they're team-mates, but intense rivalry looms on the horizon.
