Confirmed Liverpool Team: Forgotten man returns; surprise as Klopp benches 'exciting' £25m midfielder

In a minor surprise, Emre Can has kept his place for today's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

FULL TEAM: Karius, Clyne, Lovren, Matip, Moreno, Henderson, Can, Lallana, Coutinho, Mane, Firmino

SUBS: Mignolet, Randall, Klavan, Lucas, Wijnaldum, Origi, Sturridge

PALACE: Mandanda, Tomkins, Ward, Dann, Kelly, McArthur, Ledley, Chung-Yong, Cabaye, Zaha, Benteke

* I'm sure many expected Wijnaldum to walk straight back into the team, but Can retains his place. Perhaps Wijnaldum is not 100% match-fit...?

* According to LFC: 'James Milner is not available for today's game due to illness'.

* Milner's absence means Alberto Moreno returns to the starting line-up. Hopefully, Klopp will have coached out some of his bad habits over the last couple of months.

* As expected, despite scoring two goals this week, Sturridge is back on the bench, with Firmino obviously preferred up-front.

Predicting a 2-0 victory for Liverpool, Reds legend Mark Lawrenson told the BBC:

"I think the key to the game will be whether Crystal Palace can stop Liverpool. If you give Jurgen Klopp's side time and space to play at the moment, then they create enough chances to win two games".

The script is already written: Christian Benteke will probably score in this game...

* Wijnaldum: Hailed by Klopp for his 'exciting' potential. Cost: £25m
