Carra raves: 'Magnificent' £30m sensation wanted by Liverpool is an attacking 'gem' whose worth '20-30 times' his fee

One-time Liverpool target Moussa Dembele has hit the ground running at Celtic, and according to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, the 'magnificent' 19-year old's transfer value has already skyrocketed by 2900%.

Dembele was linked with Liverpool back in July, but he ultimately ended up signing for ex-Reds boss Brendan Rodgers.

Two months into the season, and Dembele has grabbed 13 goals/assists in 16 games for Celtic so far, and according to Carra:

"Brendan Rodgers has unearthed a gem. Celtic are going to struggle to keep him but if Celtic do eventually sell him, then it is going to be for a fee 20 or 30 times more than their initial outlay".

Dembele reportedly cost Celtic £1m, which means that he could - according to Carra - be worth £30m by his next transfer. Such a massive fee increase sounds unlikely, but given the ridiculous fees paid for similar players over the last few years, it's not beyond the realm of possibility.

That said, the praise for Dembele should be tempered by the fact he's playing at an inferior level in the SPL, though 2 two goals in two Champions League games proves that he can also cut it at a higher level.

Clearly, Dembele did the right thing signing for Celtic. Under Brendan Rodgers - who excels at developing young players - he'll get regular game; at Liverpool, he'd probably be stuck on the bench, just like Divock Origi.

Did Liverpool miss out here?
