Bad News for Can? Agent responds to Liverpool transfer rumours over 'incredible' €30m midfielder

Liverpool are currently linked with a January move for 'incredible' Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, but is there any truth to this particular transfer rumour?

On Tuesday, SportMediaset claimed:

"Jurgen Klopp is planning to strengthen the midfield by signing Geoffrey Kondogbia. The Reds will try to sign him on loan in the January transfer window".

When asked on Thursday about Liverpool's interest, Kondogbia's agent, Jonathan Maarek, told TuttoMercatoWeb:

“Kondogbia has a lot of clubs interested in him. He is a top level player with a lot of quality, but despite the current situation, he is relaxed".

When pressed about the possibility of a January transfer, Maarek added:

“I don't know what the dynamics within the club are, but he [Kondogbia] is happy at Inter and wants to do well."

Kondogbia may want to 'do well', but that will only happen if he has the trust of the manager (just ask Christian Benteke!), and right now, he's on Frank De Boer's sh^t list for making 'mistakes' on a regular basis.

Jurgen Klopp reportedly tried to sign Kondogbia for Dortmund back in 2013, so his renewed interest makes sense. That said, a loan deal for a player who cost €30m a year ago seems unlikely.
