Who has the superior attack: Chelsea of Liverpool? On this season's evidence, the Reds appear to have the edge, but according to Prem legend Mark Schwarzer, Chelsea are superior to Liverpool in both attack and defence.
Speaking to Chelsea TV this week, Schwarzer - who spent two years at Stamford Bridge - admitted that dealing with Mane, Sturridge, and Coutinho will be a 'big challenge', but noted:
“Chelsea have slightly more of a threat going forward, and overall, they are defensively stronger and probably are slightly in a better position for me.”
Defensively, there's no question that Chelsea are superior this season, but offensively, the clubs are very evenly matched, with both teams notching nine goals each in the first four Premier League games.
With 6 goals conceded in 3 games, Liverpool's defensive solidity away from home is, admittedly, a slight cause for concern, and based on away form over the last year, there's a strong probability that the Reds will concede at least one goal tonight.
