Liverpool XI vs. Leicester: 'Brilliant' £36m star out; Brazilian dropped? Surprise start for 'amazing' attacker

Rejoice! After the interminable international break, the Premier League is back, and after a brief absence, Liverpool return to a new and improved Anfield for an (arguably) must-win encounter with Leicester City.

Pre-match news:

* Emre Can and Diego Klavan will miss the game through injury.

* Lorius Karius has recovered from his hand injury and is available for selection.

* After recent surgery, Kasper Schmeichel is 'ready to play' for Leicester.

* Mendy and Schlupp are still injured, and will not feature in the game.

* Klopp on Leicester: "We had time over the international break to analyse them [Leicester] and they are still strong and it will be really competitive. Unfortunately, nothing happened with them becoming champions and becoming a little bit lazy".

* Head-to-Head: 5 wins and 2 draws in the last 8 games against Leicester.

My preferred line-up:

--------------- Mignolet
Milner ---- Lovren -- Matip ----- Clyne
-------------- Lucas (DM)
-------- Hendo (B2B)
Mane --------- Coutinho --- Wijnaldum
-------------- Sturridge

* If Milner is to be played out of position, then play him at right back, He's right-footed, and LFC will be able to utilise his excellent assist ability when he goes forward. Plus, positionally, he'll be more assured.

* Clyne has played left-back quite a few times for Liverpool and always done well.

* Wijnaldum/Hendo in midfield is (or should be) a non-starter. It doesn't work. Lucas is fit, and has massive experience, so play him in his best position.

In my view, it'll be an absolute disgrace if Sturridge is ignored for this game. He is fit, rested, and ready to play, so why ignore him?

^ Can: Described by James Milner as 'brilliant'. Worth £36m (CIES Football Observatory).
