Klopp to Sign? Liverpool Reps fly out to watch €15m striker who felt 'destroyed' by loan spell

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly considering a January move for Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel.

According to Italian newspaper Tutto Mercato today:

"Klopp has sent scouts to watch French forward Grégoire Defrel, who is currently contracted until June 2020".

Some info about Defrel:

* Left-footed centre-forward, who can also play on either wing.

* Jan 2016: Crystal Palace reportedly submitted a €15m offer for 25-year old Defrel.

* Cesena/Sassuolo: 28 goals/33 assists (61) in (Goal every 370 mins. G/A every 170 mins).

* Feb 2016: On his dribbling skills: "It's one of my best features. We French, many of us have this same characteristic."

* Nicknamed the 'New Menez' due to his similarity in playing style to Jeremy Menez.

* On the 'New Menez' nickname: "It started in Parma, and is probably due to my dribbling and my speed".

* On his loan spell at Foggia: "I was morally destroyed, and I thought about giving up, but Cesena gave me back my desire to play football".

Hmmm. A speedy, left-footed striker - is Jurgen Klopp looking for a cut-price replacement for Daniel Sturridge? If so, Defrel clearly isn't the solution, especially with a pitiful ratio of one goal every 370 minutes.
