'Top Class': Ian Wright hails €38m Liverpool star for 'scintillating' performance vs. Leicester

Roberto Firmino's goals/assists record for Liverpool as a striker/second striker is impressive, but the Brazilian is also effective out wide, and he proved this again on Saturday with two good goals against Leicester City.

Analysing the game on 'Match of the Day, Arsenal legend Ian Wright described Firmino as a 'pleasure to watch', and singled out his first goal for specific praise. Wright enthused:

"Firmino’s touch for the first goal was top class, and the finish - it was scintillating stuff".

Firmino's stats for Liverpool:

* Striker/Second Striker: 11 goals/11 assists (22) in 31 apps (Goal/assist every 114 mins)

* LW/RW/No 10: 4 goals/assists in 23 games (Goal/assist every 937 mins)

Saturday's game showed that Sturridge, Firmino, and Mane can all play effectively in the same team (with Sturridge in his best position), so that definitely bodes well for the future.

It's a tough one, though. Firmino's goals/assists stats are excellent as a striker/second striker role, so it's understable why Jurgen Klopp utilises him up-front. That said, with a goal/assist every 94 mins in a central striker role, Sturridge's record still remains superior.
