Deal Close: 'Fantastic' €20m attacker wanted by Liverpool set for Monday medical. Transfer agreed with Inter

Liverpool are currently linked with a summer move for Croatian attacker Marko Pjaca, but it looks like Jurgen Klopp is set to lose out on the Dynamo Zagreb sensation.

Last week, Italian newspaper Gazetta Dello Sport claimed that Dynamo Zagreb the Reds' €15m offer.

According to Sportmediaset on Friday:

* Inter Milan have beaten Liverpool, Milan and Napoli to the signing of €20m-rated Pjaca.

* Pjaca is scheduled for a medical on Monday, after which the deal will be announced.

Some info about Pjaca:

* 21-year old left-winger, who can also play on the right, or as a number-10.

* Zagreb: 38 goals/assists in 89 apps (One every 161 mins)

* Last Season: 18 goals/assists in 42 apps (One every 162 mins)

* Aug 2015: Dynamo boss Zoran Mamic raved: "Marko is a fantastic player with great potential".

* May 2016: Tomislav Ivković, Pjaca's former coach at Lokomotiva, enthused: "He is like a mixture of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo"

* May 2016Revealed that his football role model is Cristiano Ronaldo: "I was forever trying to learn some of his skills and tricks".

* Jun 2016: Named the Croatian League's 'Best Player' at the PFA's 'Football Oscars'. Also made the 'Best XI' of the year.

If this turns out to be true, then it makes sense. Fellow Croatians Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic already play for Inter, so will undoubtedly have some bearing on Pjaca's decision.

When it comes to settling into a new team/culture, it obviously helps to have some friendly faces around, and unlike Liverpool, Inter can offer the added bonus of European football next season.

Another one bites the dust, it seems.
