Agent Confirms: 'Liverpool' have been trying to sign 'amazing' €15m attacker 'for months'. Deal close?

The summer's most tedious transfer saga drags on! Last week, Udinese sporting director Nereo Bonato confirmed that long-times Liverpool target Piotr Zielinski has an 'agreement with Napoli', but a new development today suggests that the Reds remain in the hunt to sign the allegedly 'amazing' Poland international.

Last month, Napoli Chief Aurelio De Laurentis confirmed that the Zielinski^ 'wants to join Liverpool', and further insisted:

“Liverpool have made a bid and Zielinski wants to join them [Liverpool], but we are trying to convince the player to join us”.

Soon after, Udinese President Fabrizio Corsi told Radio Kiss Kiss:

“Klopp has been talking to [Zielinski] since January [but] I would advise Zielinski to join Napoli".

Today, Zielinksi's agent, Bartolomej Bolek told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"It's true that Liverpool have been tracking the player for months. Many offers reached Udinese for Zielinski. We're talking to the interested clubs."

If Liverpool have been 'tracking' Zielinski for months, and 'wants to join Liverpool', then what's the hold up? Just make a decision already!

I'm not fussed either way. Zielinski is not (IMO) an upgrade on the club's current attacking players, and if Liverpool are to progress from 8th place mediocrity, then better players than him are required.

Also, if Zielinski wants to step up and improve himself, then he's better off signing for Napoli, where he'll be able to test himself against the best in the Champions League.
