Marquee Signing? 'Extraordinary' €30m goal-machine wanted by Liverpool confirms he'll 'think about' transfer

Last month, The Mirror claimed that Liverpool 'lead the chase' to sign Lyon star Alexander Lacazatte, and with the season almost over, the coveted striker has given another strong indication that a transfer is on the horizon.

When asked in March about his future, Lacazette - currently the subject of an alleged €30m bid from West Ham - admitted:

"A departure? Yes. I'm focused [on this season] and perhaps after that, I will leave. It is possible to go in the Premier League and Lyon is also aware".

In a new interview this week, Lacazette told reporters:

“Will I still be in Ligue 1 next season? I will think about it. I need to take good decisions. If there is better elsewhere, then I will see. I am happy at the club, but we will think about it."

Last season, Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas claimed that Lacazette is 'better than Bale', and although his productivity has tailed off a little this season, his stats are still creditable overall:

* Last Season: 40 goals/assists in 40 apps (One every 87 mins)

* This Season: 27 goals/assists in 43 apps (One every 135 mins)

Ex-Reds boss Gerard Houllier has no doubts about Lacazette, though and he's convinced that his compatriot can be a success in the Premier League:

"He [Lacazette] can be world-class. He’s a very dedicated professional, so if he looks after himself he can become really top notch.”

If Liverpool can sign Lacazette for £15m-£20m, then given his speed, mobility, and finishing ability, it'd (arguably) represent good business.

* Hailed by Thierry Henry as 'extraordinary'
