Liverpool XI vs Watford: Shock Anfield return for 'terrific' attacker? Klopp confirms lineup 'changes'

After the euphoria of making it through to the Europa League final, it's back down to earth for Liverpool this weekend, and with confidence flowing through the team. the Reds will hopefully improve on last weekend's horror show at Swansea.

Jurgen Klopp's pre-match updates:

* On Ings: “If we have the opportunity, if there is a chance, we will do it, but we will not force it, we will not push it, we will not press it".

* On Henderson: "Hendo is in a really good way [and] there is no doubt at this moment about being fit for the European Championships.”

* On Sturridge: "We did everything we could to make him as fit as possible. Now he is at the highest level and there is nothing negative or resting or whatever to think about.”

* On possible rotation: “We will have a few changes for sure. We respect this league, we want to have the best position we can get at the end of the season"

What 'changes' will Klopp make? After being snubbed for Villareal, Joe Allen and Lucas will surely start against Watford, and Martin Skrtel will probably come into central defence.

After playing 90 minutes on Thursday, it's unlikely that Klopp will risk Daniel Sturridge just three days later, so that opens up the possibility of Benteke starting the game.

Emre Can made a surprise early return against Villareal, so maybe Klopp will spring another surprise and play Danny Ings?^

One change that shouldn't be made, though, is Emre Can. He needs games to build up match-fitness, and after his recent injury absence, he doesn't need to be rested. My preferred lineup:

----------------- Ward
Flanagan --- Skrtel - Lucas -- Smith
------------ Allen -- Can
---- Milner --- Firmino ---- Ojo
--------------- Benteke

Watford have lost 3 of their last four away games, (conceding 9 goals in the process), but the Hornets have already beaten Liverpool once this season, and the smaller teams often seem to raise their games against Liverpool.

Watford doing the league double over Liverpool: unthinkable, surely...?

^ Described by Brendan Rodgers as a 'terrific striker'.
