He's 'Incredible': Firmino urges Liverpool to sign 'extraordinary' €47m attacker. Done deal this summer?

Last week, Germany legend Franz Beckenbauer urged €47m-rated Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze to 'follow' Jurgen Klopp to Anfield, and Reds attacker Roberto Firmino has joined the Kaiser in suggesting that Liverpool is the ideal destination for Gotze.

Gotze is reportedly 'keen' to link up with with Klopp this summer', and Beckenbauer believes that a transfer to Liverpool is the attacker's best option:

"In his [Gotze's] place, I would go to a place [Liverpool] where I feel comfortable; I would follow in the footsteps of Jurgen Klopp".

When asked on Monday whether Gotze should sign for Liverpool, Roberto Firmino told Sport Bild:

"I know Götze well from my time in Germany. He has incredible qualities in attack. He would fit in well at Liverpool, and with his class, he'd surely help us".

Like the Piotr Zielinski transfer, this appears to be nailed-on to happen this summer, and after becoming a bit-part player at Bayern, Gotze won't want to risk the same thing happening again at another club.

As such, it makes sense for Gotze to sign for a manager he knows, and Klopp - who brought him through the ranks at Dortmund - still rates Gotze very highly. Indeed, in April, Klopp described Gotze as a player as a player with 'extraordinary abilities' and if those abilities can be harnessed for Liverpool, then the Reds' attack will receive an instant upgrade.

Gotze has even confirmed that he is in text contact with Klopp, and with new Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti reportely advising him to move on, all signs point to a transfer to Anfield this summer.
