Yes Please: 'Incredible' €9m Liverpool target hints at summer transfer. Anfield 'Interest' confirmed last season

Last season, FC Cologne goalkeeper Timo Horn confirmed Liverpool's interest in bringing him to Anfield, and new reports this week suggest that the 22-year old remains on Jurgen Klopp's transfer wish-list.

Liverpool were last linked with Horn during the January transfer window, and according to German magazine Kicker this week:

* Horn is set to leave FC Cologne this summer, and Liverpool is his most likely destination.

When asked today about the possibility of a transfer to Liverpool, Horn told The Set Pieces:

“We'll see. I have a long contract in Cologne and my heart is in Cologne. I think we will talk about it...and then see what comes next.”

Some info about Horn:

* 6'4 goalkeeper. Current contract expires in 2019. Contract contains a €9m buyout clause.

* Cologne Stats: 135 goals conceded in 139 games (0.9 per game/1 every 93 minutes). 52 clean sheets (37% of games)

* Mignolet: 169 goals conceded in 144 games (One every 77 mins). 46 clean sheets (31% of games overall)

* Dec 2014: Horn - hailed as an 'incredible' goalkeeper by Cologne boss Peter Stoger - told reporters: "It's great to awaken the interest of a club like Liverpool, but it's not the right time for me to consider it."

* Dec 2014: Soon after, Horn's agent told Express 1: "We have been told about those [Liverpool] rumours, but no one contacted us directly"

* Harald Schumacher's assessment: "We always had players who control the ball and  attack quickly, so getting the ball to them [quickly] was always important. Timo does this superbly".

Distribution is one of Mignolet's weaknesses, and it sounds like Horn is comfortable on the ball, and excels at playing out of defence, which is something Liverpool need at the back.

A viable replacement for Mignolet?
