Sell Him: 59% of Liverpool fans want Klopp to dump 'fantastic' £20m attacker

After sustaining yet another hamstring injury, on-loan Liverpool attacker Lazar Markovic is out for the rest of the season, which almost certainly means he'll be back at Anfield this summer. Do Liverpool fans want him back, though?

Markovic - hailed by Jordan Henderson as a 'fantastic' player - has missed 20 games through injury this season, and in a recent with Turkish newspaper Fanatik, he admitted:

"Now I'm so frustrated. I want to contribute to the team play, after all my injuries I've lost all motivation".

Markovic has failed to score a single league goal for Fenerbahce this season, and if he can't do the business in the Turkish league, then it doesn't bode well for his chances in the Premier League.

Of course, Markovic struggled in his first season at Liverpool, too, and Reds fans appear to be less than enthused about the possibility of a return to Anfield.

I conducted a poll last week asking fans if Liverpool should sell or keep Markovic. The results:

Can Klopp get anything out of Markovic? The Serb has pace, so that is an obvious plus-point, but in my view, he will not prosper in a structure where defensive/pressing duties take precedence over individual self-expression.

Even prodigiously talented players like Firmino and Coutinho underperform in Klopp's gegenpressing system (9 and 10 goals respectively in all competitions this season; not in the Prem's top 20 for assists or chance-creation).

As such, Markovic - with his penchant for hamstring injuries - is arguably better off leaving the club, and playing in a less physically demanding league.
